“Love, genuine love, is liberated through gratitude.”
Sr. Kathy DeVico, Chapter Talk for the Feast of Christ the King,
Every year at Thanksgiving we pause to reflect deeply on the blessings we have received: the myriad ways God has touched us individually, communally, and as extended community to our family, friends and well-wishers.
This year we are most thankful for the life and grace-filled death of our beloved Sr. Godelieve Theys. We are grateful for the outpouring of support from neighbors and friends, near and far, who joined us to celebrate her life of monastic fidelity and her transitus to eternal life.
We are thankful for retreatants, donors, architects and builders who made our new Welcome Center a reality.
We are overjoyed at the wonder of the created world and give thanks for the constant visitation of creatures large and small to our monastery. This September we hosted a herd of elk!
And we give thanks for your support of our recent marketing effort to add reviews to Redwoods Abbey Online Store. Our product pages are now full of good reviews to give prospective buyers information about our honey and cards.
Thank you for your continued generosity to our monastery – allowing us to be a place of refuge for retreatants and wildlife. Your purchases and donations permit us to live a life of contemplative prayer and to share the fruits of that prayer with the world.
In grateful love,
The Sisters of Redwoods Abbey
